Web-Mapping Partnership Projects for The National Map

Web access to the data of The National Map and Web-based mapping tools that provide data visualization and mapping functionality are essential to making geographic knowledge available. Western Region Geography has regional teams developing interfaces, tools, and databases for regional partnership projects. These regional partnerships add up-to-date, high-resolution data to The National Map. Early partnership projects from the Western Region that helped develop The National Map included the Lake Tahoe Partnership Project, the Washington–Idaho Partnership Project, and the Utah Partnership Project. Recently, we have added the Seattle–Tacoma Partnership Project and Sacramento Area Council of Governments dataset and will be soon adding a high-resolution dataset for the Spokane urban area. Our partners are vital for the success of The National Map. These partnership projects are in addition to other high-resolution coverages being collected throughout the 11 western states of Western Region Geography.
