For a list and dates of DOQQS used, check the county listings for the Spokane, Pend Oreille, Kootenai, and Bonner Counties at the Earth Explorer website.
The DOQQs were imported into EDAS Imagine and converted to .img files. Approximately 25-30 DOQQs were opened up. An Area of Interest (AOI) containing the area of the DOQQs which were opened was created. The mosaic tool was started. The same DOQQs which were used to make the AOI were opened in the mosaic tool. The Set Mode for Intersection icon, which activated the cutline icons. was chosen. Then the Set Default Cutlines for Intersection icon was activated and the cutlines where selected by using the shift, left mouse button. To view the outlines, the Cutline Selection Viewer icon was used. To handle the overlap areas, the Set Overlap Fuction icon was activated. The Cutline Exists and Cut Only radio buttons were chosen. Then in the Set Output Options, the output map area was defined by the AOI which was created earlier. The Run Mosaic dialog box was opened. The Output File was named, the Stats Ignore Zero Value was enabled, and the Mosaic was excecuted. This process was repeated for the rest of the county. Depending on the size of the county, four to eight of the mosaics were created. The same procedure was followed to create an image of the entire county. A county bounday was provided by the USGS Northwest Science Center Spokane Office. The county boundary file was converted into an AOI. The mosaic which were created for the county were used to created one DOQQ image for the entire county. The county DOQ image was converted into a Mr Sid 1:10 compressed image for the Pilot Viewer.
